This week brings significant news for film and series enthusiasts. Ben Affleck's new movie, titled "Animals," is set to premiere this Friday on both Netflix and in select theaters. Affleck, with his characteristic humor, even told Good Morning America, as reported by Yahoo, that to prepare for his role in "Animals," he "pretended to campaign for mayor of Los Angeles."
The arrival of "Animals" on Netflix further demonstrates how streaming platforms continue to be a key space for major productions and well-known Hollywood names, offering audiences the convenience of watching a premiere from home or the traditional cinema experience.
David Harbour on the Big and Small Screen
Another actor with a very busy schedule is David Harbour. The performer known as Jim Hopper in "Stranger Things" will return to the big screen as Alexei Shostakov, also known as Red Guardian, in "Avengers: Doomsday." The film is scheduled for theatrical release on December 18, as Harbour told Variety on the Emmys red carpet, reported by Yahoo.
Harbour expressed excitement about working alongside Robert Downey Jr., whom he described as a "creative powerhouse" and "unpredictable." He recounted that being on the set of a Marvel movie, after having been a cheering fan in the audience, is a "surreal and amazing" feeling.
In addition to his Marvel role, David Harbour will reunite with his "Stranger Things" co-star, Millie Bobby Brown, for a new Netflix project. While plot details remain under wraps, Harbour revealed that they will once again explore the father-daughter dynamic they portray so well. "She's now in her 20s, and in 'Stranger Things' we explored a lot of teen things; now we want to explore like, what does it mean to father someone in their 20s who's going through all kinds of things," Harbour explained to Variety. The series will be written by Jack Thorne, whom Harbour called a "master."
In recognition of his talent, Harbour won his first Emmy on September 6 at the Creative Arts Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series for his role as Floyd Smernitch in "DTF St. Louis."
Megan Thee Stallion and Her Feline Style
Shifting gears, but remaining in the world of trend-setting artists, rapper Megan Thee Stallion surprised her fans with a striking cat-inspired outfit. As reported by Billboard, the artist shared a skin-tight dress and a platinum updo that mimicked cat ears, with peach-orange tips, on Instagram and TikTok. Her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, revealed that Megan herself asked for her hair to look like "cat ears."
Megan Thee Stallion is a well-known cat lover; she even has a Maine Coon cat named 9 and adopted another orange cat named Miso, whom she considers her good luck charm while recording her album "Act III." While gearing up for Halloween with her traditional pumpkin-head photoshoot, the rapper also remains active in music, reviving her Tina Snow alter ego with the "Tina Tuesday Freestyle" on September 29, available on YouTube.
